The company forms part of the globally respected Heintzmann Group, headquartered in Bochum, Germany a business with more than 160 years of engineering excellence in steel safety products.

What we do
Heintzmann South Africa (Pty) Ltd delivers advanced, reliable road safety solutions by combining global engineering expertise with strong local manufacturing and supply partnerships. While part of the international Heintzmann Group (Germany), we actively support the South African economy by sourcing and producing many of our products locally under license.
Our core offering includes crash-tested steel guardrails and barrier systems designed for both permanent and temporary applications. These systems meet SANS 51317-2 (EN 1317-2) requirements, with containment levels ranging from N2 to H4b, and are manufactured in accordance with leading international standards such as RAL-RG 620, NF, COPRO, and ASTRA. We are also fully compliant with SANS 1350:2023, with all manufacturing aligned to EN ISO 9001 quality standards.
In addition to our globally engineered systems, we supply the SANS 1350 3.81m Guardrail System and a comprehensive range of road safety and traffic management products, including:

Vario-Guard – Mobile Steel Barrier System
A flexible, high-performance barrier ideal for both temporary and permanent use, particularly in work zones, contraflow systems, and confined road spaces. Tested to H2 containment level, it offers excellent redirection capabilities and includes integrated crashworthy gate solutions for emergency access.
OBEX – Crash Cushion Systems
A versatile range of crash cushions and steel parapets designed for highways and urban environments, with multiple installation options and seamless transitions to guardrail or concrete barriers. Tested to EN 1317 and NCHRP 350 standards, and manufactured locally by Heintzmann under License from OBEX.
